Four local softball squads will take part in regional tournaments this week.

Good Hope, which won the Class 4A, Area 12 Tournament, will head to Bowers Park in Tuscaloosa to compete in the West Central Regional.

The No. 7 Lady Raiders (29-9) will play Handley on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Depending on the outcome, they would then duke it out with either Cordova or Hokes Bluff at 3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. later in the day.

West Point, which garnered the 5A, Area 14 Tournament crown, will join Cullman and Holly Pond in the North Regional at Florence's Coffee O'Neal Park.

The Lady Warriors (22-17-1) face off against Hamilton on Friday at noon.

Next up would be Sardis or Scottsboro at 4:30 p.m. or 6 p.m.

The Lady Bearcats (6A, Area 14 runners-up) and Lady Broncos (3A, Area 13 runners-up), meanwhile, begin play on Thursday.

Holly Pond (9-14) takes on Lexington at 9 a.m., while Cullman (18-25) plays Athens at 10:30 a.m.

The Lady Broncos would then go up against No. 2 Pisgah or East Lawrence at 3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Bearcats, on the other hand, would play No. 2 Buckhorn or Albertville at 6 p.m.

Forecasted inclement weather could force a change in all regional schedules.
