Fairview's Lauren Lawson

Fairview's Lauren Lawson, center, shows off her hardware on Tuesday.

Fairview's Lauren Lawson carded an 86 during Tuesday's Class 4A-5A North 2 Sub-State Tournament at Robert Trent Jones Silver Lakes in Glencoe to advance to the state golf tournament, which is slated for May 13-14 at RTJ Capitol Hill in Prattville.

The sophomore closed out her round with back-to-back birdies.

The top two squads and individuals not on qualifying teams in each sub-state round advanced to state.

Brileigh Roberts (90) and Lexy Gambrill (109) contributed to Fairview's fourth-place finish.

"We are extremely proud of Lauren and our team," coach Kurt Knight said.

White Plains' Hanna Dyar (75) also advanced as an individual.
