Trenda Bates can get it done in more ways than one.

The Good Hope High standout proved that again Thursday.

Bates — who christened Good Hope’s new field with a grand slam earlier this season — pitched a complete-game shutout as the Raiders picked up a 12-0 win at Cullman County rival Hanceville.

Bates worked five scoreless innings, giving up just two hits while striking out three batters. She walked two.

Bates was just as effective on the offensive side, picking up a game-high three hits in the win.

Good Hope (6-6) scored all 12 of its runs during the third inning. Ashley Bailey and Cara Goodwin highlighted the scoring binge with a pair of two-run doubles.

Bailey, Goodwin and Alannah Henke finished with two hits apiece for the Raiders, who travel to West Point Monday.
