Fairview 53, Holly Pond 52: Luke Bailey had 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Aggies held on to beat the Broncos for the second time this season.

Blake Parker scored nine points and Elijah Garrison contributed eight to help Fairview (10-7) snap Holly Pond’s six-game win streak.

The Broncos (13-4) were led by Gunter Morris and Thomas Hays, who scored 14 and 12 points, respectively. Bryant Sparks netted 10.


Vinemont 81, Athens Bible 35: The Eagles (10-6) have now won three straight games after victories over Mortimer Jordan and Sumiton Christian in the Corner Christmas Tournament.

Vinemont’s top scoring threat was Trevor Yarbrough, and Cordale Gay contributed off the bench. Jacob Brown and Blake Jones both had double-digit point totals.



Addison 60, Winston County 45: Lauren Lowery went off for 29 points, and Heather Baldwin netted 15 points to help push the Bulldogs’ record to 8-3.

They will return home Friday night to play area foe Lynn.


Holly Pond 37, Fairview 36: Lexy Malone drained a free throw with .4 seconds remaining to avoid the upset.

The Broncos (12-6) were outscored 10-4 in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Terry amassed nine points and 13 rebounds in the win.

For the Aggies (4-11), Annie Holcombe scored 15 points; Sabrina Russell, eight; and Anna Mangum, seven.


Vinemont 52, Athens Bible 32: The Eagles (6-9) used a big run to begin the game, and Jordan Melton had 20-plus points to help her squad squash a six-game losing streak.

Katie Speer joined in the points parade with double-figure scoring.
