Athlete of the Week

Cold Springs' Ayden Alexander.

Ayden Alexander did his part to make sure Cold Springs triumphed last Friday night.

The junior running back recorded 178 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in the Eagles' 28-8 win against Vinemont inside Cranford Stricklin Stadium.

Alexander, who had 70 receiving yards as well, has rushed for more than 1,500 yards this season.

He's also The Times' Athlete of the Week.

Jordan Lacey compiled 14 tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown on defense.

Roberto Ayala (pick-six) and Chase Allcorn (11 tackles) contributed for Cold Springs as well.

% Oakley Mullican, Fairview: Had a 6-yard touchdown run against Holly Pond.

% Tanner Malin, Good Hope: Completed 10 of 19 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-18 win over Hanceville. Had nine carries for 33 yards and a touchdown.

% Colton Bagwell, Good Hope: Had 26 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown against Hanceville.

% Drew Maddox, Good Hope: Had four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown against Hanceville. Had an interception.

% Ethan Anderson, Good Hope: Had 100 total yards against Hanceville.

% Guthery, Joseph Arriaga, David DeJesus, Jiovany Aguilar-Arriaga and Eli Loyd, St. Bernard: Helped the Saints win the team title at the Class 3A, Section 3 meet.

% Poncho Perez, West Point: Had two interceptions in a 20-7 loss to Cordova.

% Cooper Couch, West Point: Had a 53-yard touchdown reception against Cordova.
