MONTGOMERY — Addison’s Savannah Manley and the North squad came up short against the South during Thursday’s Alabama All-Star Sports Week volleyball match.

But despite a tough three-set loss (25-17, 25-23, 25-18) inside the Multiplex at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl — the North still holds a 14-8 lead in the series — the star senior couldn’t have had a better time representing her school at the annual event featuring some of the state’s top athletes.

Manley will attempt to lead Addison to its seventh straight state championship this fall.

“It’s a huge honor for her to be here. I told her to enjoy the experience and have fun, because it is a big deal. She gets to represent herself, her school, her family. We’re really proud of her.” — Addison volleyball coach Kayla Woodard
