Republican Tommy Tuberville is bringing his statewide bus tour to Cullman. The former Auburn football coach, who’s vying for the GOP nomination to face Democratic incumbent Sen. Doug Jones in the Nov. 3 general election, will be making a stop at Rumors Deli on Friday evening.
Tuberville’s “The People vs the Swamp” bus tour is putting in stops all throughout the state as Tuberville vies with some high-profile political names in a heavily-watched primary election season. Also hoping for the chance to face Jones this fall are former Alabama Senator and former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, as well as Roy Moore, Bradley Byrne, Stanley Adair, current Alabama House Rep. Arnold Mooney, and Ruth Page Nelson.
The free-to-attend campaign event is expected to bring Tuberville to Rumors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tuberville will meet and greet voters, pose for photos, and make a speech before the bus takes off for heading out to the next stop on the tour.
The Cullman County Republican Party, which is announcing the event but does not endorse any single GOP candidate in the primary race, anticipates the event may get crowded early and advises dressing arriving early and dressing casual.
This year’s statewide primary election for both parties will be held on March 3.
