A traffic violation led to the arrest of a Hanceville man for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Christopher Shaunn Bell, 29, was stopped by Cullman County deputies on U.S. 31 on Thursday. Deputies found that the tag had been switched and the suspect had an outstanding warrant from another law enforcement agency, according to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office news release.
After the suspect was placed under arrest, deputies searched the vehicle and confiscated 15 grams of methamphetamine.
Bell has made bond.
“I am glad the deputies were able to arrest this suspect and seize this much meth before it was distributed into our community,” Sheriff Matt Gentry said. “I would also like to point out this arrest was made on July 4, which shows the bad guys don’t care what day it is, they will still sell drugs, commit thefts, and do other crimes and I am very thankful for our deputies and all law enforcement that work during holidays to keep us safe.”
