A Hanceville man is facing charges of child abuse following an investigation by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
CCSO investigators arrested Aaron Anthony Stites, 26, and charged him with 1st degree assault and torture/willful abuse of a child.
According the a press release from CCSO, on Sunday, investigators medically determined Stites shook the child causing seizures and brain trauma.
Due to the nature of the crime, limited information will be released.
“As I have said before we have made it a priority to care for those who cannot care and fight for themselves,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “When someone injures a child there isn’t a punishment severe enough for them to receive.”
CCSO worked in cooperation with the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Human Resources.
