A three-vehicle crash at 6:40 a.m. Saturday has claimed the life of an Aviston, Illinois man.
The pickup he was driving was struck by a 2012 Jeep Cherokee driven by James Andrew Terrell, 38, of Huntsville.
The Jeep Cherokee then struck a 2013 Chevrolet ambulance driven by Lifeguard Ambulance Service personnel, according to Alabama State Troopers.
Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Terrell was injured and taken to Huntsville Hospital.
The ambulance did not have a patient, and the ambulance personnel were not injured. The crash occurred on I-65 four miles east of Falkville at exit 322. Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
The wreck left the I-65 northbound lanes blocked for several hours Saturday.
