The Boyds joined other customers stopping by to pick up bees. “I always helped my family, my granddaddy Cruce especially, on honey day,” said Susan Boyd as she shot video of the exchange. “It was a big day with our family. They’d go off in their white (bee) suits and come back with the honey. We’d spend the day harvesting honey and putting it in the jars so we want to carry on that tradition.” Susan said they took photos of in their white bee suits and shared it with her mom. Grandpa Verlon Cruce passed away a few years ago. “Granddaddy would be so proud, we’re going to carry on the tradition,” said Susan. “The best kind of learning is hands on.”
