Wallace State

Eighteen Wallace State Community College students have received more than $200,000 in transfer scholarships to the University of Alabama, which will assist them as they move seamlessly on from Wallace State toward a bachelor’s degree.

“We are extremely proud of these students and their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them succeed at the University of Alabama,” said Dr. Vicki Karolewics, President of Wallace State.

Data show Wallace State transfer students do as well or better than students who start out at four-year institutions. Through the STARS statewide articulation program, credits are guaranteed to transfer.

Many students attend Wallace State each year with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree or beyond, knowing that they will save thousands of dollars by completing their freshman and sophomore years of coursework closer to home, while receiving an outstanding education from a top-ranked institution. Wallace State’s accolades regarding student success are numerous and come from such well-known organizations as the Aspen Institute, Achieving the Dream, the League for Innovation, and others.

The University of Alabama has a robust scholarship program for accomplished transfer students. Awards announced for the following Wallace State students this year range from $6,000 to more than $24,000:
