Cullman Theatre

The Cullman Theatre troupe represented Cullman High School in regional competition Saturday, advancing to the state level for the third year in a row.

Cullman Theatre had a big day at the 2018 DIstrict Trumbauer Festival Saturday at Florence High School, advancing to the state competition level. 

The one-act presented by Cullman High School with 65 cast and crew members, “Peter and the Starcatchers” won Best In Show and was selected to represent the district at the State Festival in Troy. This is the third year in a row Cullman has advanced to the state level. Cullman also won numerous awards from the one-act, including Best Actor - Graffin Shaddrix, Best Supporting Actor - Clay Brown, All Star Cast - Atticus Phillips, Grant Holland, Micah Coucke, Isaiah Fuller, Sam Jones,and Chandler Greer. The show also won the awards for Best Scenery, Best Tech, Best Ensemble, and Best Costumes. 

Cullman also won numerous individual awards for individual performances with invitations to compete on the state level at the state festival. The following received superiors and will be going to state in their individual category: 

Macey Orr and Coco Eddleman for Reader’s Theatre, Caleb Brown, Graffin Shaddrix and Matthew Smith for Male Dramatic Monologue, David Goymer and Foster Carmichael for Male Comedic Monologue, Avery Drake and Jenn Netherton for Duet Acting, Emiley Gable, Natalie Thrasher, Laci New, Alyssa Sandlin for Female Musical Theatre Dramatic, Chandler Greer, Haley Sanchez, Jamie Jowers for Female Musical Theatre Comedic, Micah Coucke, Matthew Smith, Dawson Culver for Male Musical Theatre Dramatic, Grant Holland for Male Musical Theatre Comedic, Abby West and Micah Coucke for Duet Musical Theatre Dramatic, Emma Mansour for Stage Management, two of Cullman’s Group Musical Theatre entries were awarded superiors. “Rock Island” from “The Music Man” - Adam Cooner, Grant Holland, Graffin Shaddrix, Devon Campbell, Sam Jones, Dawson Culver, and Caleb Brown. 

Also “She’s In Love” from “The Little Mermaid” - Kayla Watts, Alyssa Sandlin, Mary Claire Page, Laci New, Natalie Thrasher, and Chandler Greer. In total Cullman was awarded 36 individual superior medals at District. These students will be traveling to Troy University for the State Trumbauer Festival in late November/ Early December.
