Cullman Regional has added virtual care to its services in order to make healthcare more accessible to its patients. Created through a partnership between Cullman Regional and Synct, Cullman Regional Virtual Care allows patients to communicate and submit basic care requests to Cullman Regional Medical Group Providers through a computer or smart phone when a face-to-face visit is not necessary.
Cullman Regional Virtual Care supports more than 40 medical and behavioral health conditions including common cold, flu, fever, pain, headaches, nausea, infections, dizziness, bug bites, rashes, diarrhea, vomiting, and other medical conditions that may not require a visit to the office. Additionally, patients can communicate with their physician for care, follow up questions or other medical and behavioral health related needs.
“Patients want to receive care where they are when they need care,” said Lisa Courtney, VP Physician Services. “We value our relationships with our patients and if a virtual environment is an acceptable means for medical care, we want to provide that option to our patients. This service also allows patients to receive care and avoid an urgent care or emergency department when they have a medical condition that is not emergent.”
With virtual care, patients pay an amount similar to their copay for an office visit, but don't have to miss time from work or school, traveling to the office, or sitting in the waiting room. If the physician believes the patient needs to have an office visit based on the description of their care need, there is no charge to the patient for using Virtual Care services.
Patients can register with Cullman Regional Virtual Care at CullmanRegionalMedicalGroup.com. Following registration, the patient is approved to submit care requests.
Cullman Regional Virtual Care is available Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about virtual care services, visit CullmanRegionalMedicalGroup.com.
