Funeral services for Hugo Manning, 83, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Moss-Service Funeral Home. Mr. Manning died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Hanceville Nursing Home.

Mattie Howard Oden

Funeral services for Mattie Howard Oden, 96, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Jim Howard officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Oden died Wednesday, May 23, at Woodland Village Health Care Center. She was born on July 25, 1910, to Robert Glenn and Emma Ann Quattlebaum Howard. She was a homemaker, seamstress and clothing store manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin D. Oden; three brothers, Bolden Howard, Dave Howard and Hugh Howard; and three sisters, Carrie Parker, Bernice Bynum and Audrey Pedlow.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanenne (Frank) Skinner; a sister, Flora (Norman) Graham; three grandchildren, Susan (Todd) Adkison, Jennifer (Eddy) Sparkman and Stephen (Julie) Skinner; and seven great-grandchildren, Kendall, Tucker and Troy Adkison, Emalyn Blackwell, Lauren, Lindsey and Ryan Skinner.

Visitation was Thursday.

William R. ‘Bill’ White

Funeral services for William R. “Bill” White, 80, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Revs. Bill Monk, Kenneth Reeves, Tony Thorne and Kermit Owens officiating, with interment in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bethel.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. White died Wednesday, May 23, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 21, 1926, to Walter and Agnes Stevens White. He was a feed mill operator with Cullman Seed and Feed Mill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Udourse White, Noah White, Lowell White and Hubert White; and two sisters, Ezell Hanvey and Inez Dewberry.

Survivors include his wife, Era Nell White; a son, Steve (Delsie) White; two daughters, Sandra (Kenneth) Reeves and Twila (Tony) Thorne; a sister, Naomi Floyd; 11 grandchildren, Mark (Candy) Reeves, Luke (April) Reeves, Jennifer Carter, Adam (Amanda) White, Maria Thorne, Melissa (Chris) Tarvin, Carlotta (Kevin) Roberts, Ken (Kim) Landrum, Charity (Anthony) Winfrey, Timothy Thorne and Fred (Samantha) Thorne; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family send a special “thank-you” Third Floor West at Cullman Regional Medical Center and Cullman County Hospice.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.

Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
