Funeral services for James Earlie Carden, 81, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Bill Ellis officiating, with interment in Fellowship Cemetery in Spring Hill.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carden died Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 12, 1926, in Cullman County to Aaron and Molly Asherbrenner Carden. He was a member of Garden City First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ervin Carden; and a sister, Ethel Powe.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Carden of Hanceville; a son, Ricky (Carol) Carden of Dodge City; four daughters, Ann Conn, Kay (Jay) Smith, Gail Carden and Tina Clements, all of Hanceville; two stepsons, Allen Sullins of Hanceville and Butch (Ann) Sullins of Villa Rica, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Diane (Greg) Young of Hanceville; a sister, Ruby Sanders of Marietta, Ga.; four brothers, Edgar Carden of Florence, Marlie Carden of Cullman, Gurlie Carden of Dodge City and Garlie Carden of Marietta, Ga.; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Garden City First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
