The National Weather Service is warning of high winds accompanying a tropical storm that will move across the Southeast.
All of north Alabama is expected to be affected by heavy rains and sustained winds of 25-30 miles per hour, including gusts up to 50 miles per hour.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Winds of this type are capable of downing large tree limbs and may result in some power outages. Unsecured outdoor can also be blown about. Driving could also be difficult at times, especially in higher terrains, according to a weather service advisory.
North Alabama, including the Cullman area, may also experience flash flooding during the heavy rainfall periods.
