With the 2011-2012 school year just a month away, city school officials are narrowing down the search for a new principal at Cullman High School, and preparing campuses to open in the fall.
Cullman City Schools Superintendent Dr. Jan Harris said the process of replacing former Cullman High Principal Sheila Phillips is going smoothly. Phillips stepped down last month for a position at Vestavia Hills High School.
“Everything is going fine, but I haven’t made any recommendation at this time,” Harris said. “There is definitely a sense of urgency, because school is just five weeks way, and I’m hoping to do something soon.”
Harris said numerous candidates have applied for the position, including employees currently in the system.
