Former Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain will visit Cullman County Friday afternoon during a campaign stop on behalf of a state Public Service Commission candidate.
Cain is expected to arrive at Jack’s Truck Stop in Good Hope Friday, between 1 and 2 p.m. with Kathy Peterson, who is running on the Republican Party ticket for a seat on the Alabama Public Service Commission, said Ken Brown, chairman of the Cullman County Republican Party.
Cain is expected to speak and visit for 30 minutes or more. The public is invited to attend. The speech will be in the parking lot of Jack’s, Brown said.
At one time, Cain was a frontrunner for the Republican Party’s race to nominate a presidential candidate. Brown said Cain is a longtime friend of Peterson’s. Cain has also been actively campaigning for Newt Gingrich in the presidential primary.
