Three people were arrested over the weekend in connection with a church burglary that took place at Seventh Street Baptist Church in June of last year.
Eric McMillian turned himself into the Cullman Police Department Saturday and was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property according to officials. A female juvenile was also taken into custody.
Investigators say both attempted to break into the church, but once the alarm went off, the two fled the scene.
The female juvenile was also charged in connection with another church burglary that took place at First Baptist Church in October of last year. She and Dylan Bales are accused of stealing a money bag and breaking into one of the church offices.
According to officer Joey Martin, the department was investigating another case and was able to obtain more information that later led to the arrests.
Bales was taken into custody last week and charged with burglary. All of the suspects in the case are believed to be Cullman County residents, investigators said.
“We’re excited that we were able to solve these burglaries, especially concerning the length of time since they had happened,” Lt. Gene Bates said.
