Repairs on sections of two Good Hope roads and a small bridge are scheduled to begin once a Cullman city construction project is completed in a few months.

The areas in question include sections of Mann Drive and Mize Road. The small bridge is located on Mize Road.

Cullman Mayor Max Townson said the city is currently constructing a sewer pumping station for the industrial park. Large dump trunks must use the two roads to reach the construction site, he said.

“The roads were asphalt and because of the dump trucks going over it, it’s torn them all up,” said Good Hope Mayor Corey Harbison. “They’ve kept gravel on the road and maintained it somewhat, but it’s going to have to be repaved. And the weight of the trucks have caused part of the bridge to collapse. We’ve had to put metal plates in the middle of the bridge to hold it for now.”

Townson said an agreement was reached for the company constructing the pumping station to repair any road damage after the completion of the project.

“It’s not going to cost the city anything,” Townson said.
