Funeral services will be held for Marvin James Pitts, 79, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Bethlehem West Missionary Baptist Church in West Point officiated by Bro. Johnny Reid. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in West Point.
Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pitts died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport. He was born on Oct. 26, 1928, to James Hendrex and Micheal Caroline Drinkard Pitts.
He was a retired construction electrician, member of IBEW Local 175 and was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Oscar, Paul, Hubert and Odis Pitts and two sisters, Gertrude P. Jones and Ida P. Whisenhunt.
Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Pitts Ballard of Stevenson and Sheila Pitts (Alan) Cardwell of Decatur; one sister, Ann Pitts Williams of Stevenson; six grandchildren, Angel Ballard Roper of Stevenson, Chad (April) Ballard of Bridgeport, Luke Ballard of Stevenson, Brooke (Brian) Hill of Falkville, Josh Cardwell and Caleb Cardwell of Decatur; one nephew, Scott Williams of Auburn and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson.
