Richards - Banks wedding

CULLMAN — Elizabeth Brooke Banks and Derek Keith Richards were united in marriage November 11, 2011, in a double-ring ceremony at New Prospect Baptist Church in Bremen, Pastor Paul Campbell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Margaret Banks of Cullman and Dean Banks of Hanceville.

The groom is the son of David and Sheila Richards of Cold Springs.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of white silk charmeuse with a sweetheart neckline. The gown boasted a fitted bodice adorned with swarovski crystals and rhinestones and an elegant French-style skirt. She carried a bouquet of red roses, each with a crystal centered in the bloom.

Franchesa Morales was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Keisha McSwain Hurt, Kelly Schultz and Whitney Ponder.

The flower girl was Kaylyn Engler, niece of the groom.

Best man was Cody Hall. Groomsmen were Coleton Phillips, Nathan Rice and Chris White.

Shawn Harkness, cousin of the bride, served as ringbearer.

The reception was held at the church’s outdoor pavilion.

Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Bremen.

A wedding shower was hosted by family at Macedonia Baptist Church’s fellowship hall, Oct. 29, 2011.
