Stephen - Hasenbein wedding

CULLMAN — Anna Lee Hasenbein and John Richard Stephen were united in marriage at 4 p.m. July 27, 2012, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Snell Isle in St. Petersburg, Florida. Officiating was Father Dominic Corona. A cocktail hour and reception followed at the historic St. Petersburg Woman's Club on Snell Isle.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Patti Hasenbein of Cullman. She is the granddaughter of Ken and Maybelle Mangrum of Cullman and the late Bill and Ruth Hasenbein.

The groom is the son of David and Roma Stephen of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Sri Lanka. Grandmother of the groom is Joy Stephen, formerly of Sri Lanka.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero wedding gown. The champagne-colored one-piece sheath gown had delicate straps with a corset back. The silhouette was created by crushed Grecian taffeta accented at the waist by a ruche hip band. The lace bodice was embellished with Swarvoski crystals. The gown featured a sweeping train. Anna's veil was champagne color of cathedral length, with pearls cascading the length of the veil. The Swarvoski headband was provided by her maid of honor. The bride carried a bouquet of red and tangerine roses accented with lime hydrangeas.

Musicians were Daisy Lisansky, keyboards, and Emily Hargrove, soloist. Greeters with wedding programs were Ashley Pattillo of Cullman, Andy Lee and Vanessa Casanova of Lakeland, Florida. Ceremony readers were Jason Heckathorn and Patti Hasenbein.

Bridesmaids were Whitney Williams of Fultondale, Kinlee Nelson of Cullman, Chelsea and Jessica Nelson of Crossville, Tennessee, Laurie Miller of Branden, Florida, and Maid of Honor Jennifer Jackson of Cullman. The bridesmaids wore black knee-length strapless dresses with a natural ruche waistline. Their bouquets matched that of the bride’s.

Miss Olivia Heckathorn of Gainsville, Florida, was the flower girl. She wore a black and white tea-length dress and carried a floral sphere.

Groomsmen were Will Hasenbein of Cullman, Alvin Tindall, Chris Menter, Richard Ramonell and Ian Stephen; and best man was Shoan Stephen, all of Lakeland, Florida. Groomsmen wore matching Calvin Klein black-vested tuxedos with an orange tie. The groom wore his Air Force uniform for the wedding.

Upon arriving at the historic St. Petersburg Women's Club for the cocktail hour and reception, guests entered through two openings that were draped with pale tangerine fabric, which was held in each corner by white bows and cascading white tulle. The tables were covered with white cloths and table runners of black and white damask with matching chair ties. Tables held tall clear vases with tangerine orchids. Smaller tables held the attendants’ bouquets in black vases.

Guests were greeted for cocktail hour on the patio bar. The reception was catered by Frank of Creative Catering. The menu consisted of rosemary chicken, roasted beef and mango chutney grouper with sides. The wedding cake was four tiered with red velvet layers alternating with vanilla layers covered by a butter cream icing.

Music was provided by Rob Smith of Rob Smith Productions.

The after-rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Café Ten-O-One in downtown St. Petersburg.

The newlyweds began their honeymoon at the historic Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach and then traveled to Ft. Lauderdale.

The newlyweds reside in St. Petersburg, Florida.
