Ayers - Bailey wedding

CULLMAN — Megan Elizabeth Bailey and Tyler Jey Ayers were united in marriage on May 21, 2011, at the Val-Monte Lakeside Resort in Guntersville, Alabama. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Derek Dale.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Susan Bailey of Cullman. She is the granddaughter of Mr. William Earney Bailey and the late Mrs. Nell Bailey of Cullman and Mrs. Marie Poole and the late Mr. John T. Poole of Cullman.

The groom is the son of Dennis and Debbie Ayers of Cullman. He is the grandson of Mrs. Laverne Ayers and the late Mr. J. W. Ayers of Cullman, and the late Mr. Richard Buchanan and the late Mrs. Novella Buchanan of Cullman.

Given in marriage by her father, Megan wore a Maggie Sottero strapless, A-line gown in diamond white. Splashes of intricate beading of Swaroski crystals, pearls, bugle beads and glass beads electrify this Georgette Chiffon gown with a fluted side drape and cutaway feature accenting the train. A matching veil of French lace trimmed with crystals fell to the waist completing her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of various shades of red roses that were gently wrapped with black satin ribbon with a broche that belonged to her Grandmother Poole.

Jennifer Heaton, friend of the bride, served as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Campbell, sister of the groom, Natalie Huff, and Jessica Barnett, They wore an off-the-shoulder floor-length crimson red dress made of chiffon and satin. Their bouquets were various white flowers and white roses wrapped with crimson satin ribbon. The junior bridesmaid's were Rylee Campbell and Reagan Campbell, nieces of the groom. They wore ankle-length black dresses with crimson ribbon accents at the waist. They carried kissing balls of white carnations with crimson satin ribbon.

Best man was Anthony Powell. Groomsmen were John Heaton, Justin Heaton and Brandon Law.

Allie Bailey, niece of the bride, was the feather girl. She wore an ivory organza dress with a sash of crimson roses attached at the waist and a matching feather barrette in her hair. She tossed small red feathers down the isle as she entered with the ring bearer Reece Campbell, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were Brandon Barnett and Chayton Grimmett

Alexis Dahlke and Keslynn Grimmett attended the guestbook.

The reception was held on the grounds of the Val-Monte Lakeside Resort. A buffet of the couple's favorite foods was served under a crystal chandelier and The Heaton Brothers Band performed. Photography was provided by Tonya Melton.

At sunset, family and friends lined the dock with hand held sparklers for the couple's big send off, in a waiting boat.

Following the honeymoon trip to Jamaica, Tyler and Megan reside in Cullman.

Prenuptial Parties

A shower honoring the bride and groom was held at the Colonel Cullmann Home. The shower was hosted by Janie Beck, Lu Ann Poole, Mollie Schaffer, Joy Watson, Tracy Greene and Emily Thornton.

A hunting weekend, honoring the groom, was held on the family farm in Tennessee, hosted by Mike Bailey.

A bridal tea was held at the Ole Time Way Baptist Church. It was hosted by Anita DiSalvo, Kelly Campbell, Edna Warren, Thelma Harris, Sarah Ayers, Joyce Parker, and Patty Goodwin.

A couple's around-the-house shower was hosted at the home of Mike and Susan Bailey. Dinner was served around the pool.

On their special day, in each of the couple's rooms, lunch was served by Linda Romine, Claudean Vinson, and Claire Vinson, friends of the bride's mother.

Dennis and Debbie Ayers hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Top of the River restaurant in Guntersville, Alabama.
