Ala catfish angler drowns at Wilson Dam

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — An angler known to friends as "Fish Man" is dead after what authorities are describing as an accidental drowning in the Tennessee River at Muscle Shoals.

Alabama Marine Police say the death of 73-year-old Kenneth Harold Green is being treated as a boating accident.

He died after apparently falling from his boat near Wilson Dam on Saturday. An avid catfish angler, Green was fishing alone at the time.

Stepson Mike West tells the TimesDaily that Green was affectionately known as the "Fish Man," and former co-workers called him "Chico."

The retired Reynolds Alloys worker went fishing anytime he could.

Fishermen spotted Green's empty boat and then saw his body in the water before notifying authorities.
