CULLMAN — The Elks Cullman County Junior Golf Championship will be July 24-25 at the Cullman Golf Course. There will be five divisions for participants ages 8-18.

The 19th annual Merchants Bank Charity Classic will be held Aug. 6 at TP Country Club. Lunch will be at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start kicking off play at 12:30 p.m. The entry fee will be $500 per team or $125 per player, which includes lunch, greens fees and dinner for each player and a guest. There will be prizes for the top-three golfers in the gross and net divisions, as well as those closest to the pin on each par 3.
Wallace State men’s basketball coach John Meeks and the state-champion Lions will host its third and final summer session of the Wallace State Basketball Academy today-Aug. 3.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 17 and will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Wallace State’s Tom Drake Coliseum, as well as the Wellness Center.
The Cullman Cobras are currently welcoming tryouts for their 8-and-under USSSA travel baseball team. Those interested may call 256-709-4213.
