Good Hope High boys basketball coach Brandon Talley was finally able to see his entire team together after a couple of good practices when the Raiders went to Oxford, Miss. for a team camp at Ole Miss.

They played nine games in three days and won eight of them. The one loss was avenged in the final game of the camp when the Raiders knocked off Crossville High from northeast Alabama.

“We had a good camp over there, and everybody did a good job,” Talley said. “This was the first time all summer we were able to have everybody for practice before we left and then have them on the camp itself.

“We found out that when everybody is there, we did pretty well.”

Talley said the Raiders played Alabama teams like Crossville, Clarke County and Phillips as well as a number of schools from Mississippi.

This was the last time Talley’s team will play until the beginning of the season in November.

“We finished the summer with a record of 10-9,” Talley said. “Eight of those wins came this week, so it’s good to see what we can do when everybody is playing together.”
