Garcia guest speaker at St. John’s Lenten services

CULLMAN — Alicia Williamson Garcia will be special guest at Lenten services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church in Christ Hall. The church is at 512 2nd Ave. SE, Cullman 35055. Alicia is a bible teacher, worship leader, author, former instructor in worship studies at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., and the University of Mobile, Mobile, and co-founder, Women In Worship Conference Ministries. Her degrees include a master of worship studies, with concentration in leadership, from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., and a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance, from Winthrop University, Rock Hill S.C.

Alicia is a native of Florence, S.C., and began singing at age five. At seven years old, while listening to her father's first sermon, Alicia trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. After undergraduate school, Alicia traveled six years with the contemporary Christian group TRUTH, where she first recorded her signature song, "There is a Hope." Alicia began her touring ministry in 1993 and is now predominantly speaking to Christian women’s audiences, and leading congregations in worship.
