CULLMAN —
Over 5,000 people attended the first annual FallFest in downtown Hanceville last Monday night. The first-time event was co-sponsored by the City of Hanceville and several local churches (Crosshaven Church, First Baptist Hanceville, Faith Restoration, Garden City First Baptist, Trinity Lutheran, First Methodist Hanceville, and Bethlehem East Baptist Church).
Walker's Discount Building Supply, Hanceville Drug Company, Wallace State College, Dairy Queen of Hanceville, College Tire, and Blue and Gray Drugs served as corporate sponsors, while several other Hanceville businesses provided door prizes and supplies. The event included 50 Trunk or Treat cars, carnival games, music for the kids with the Praise Peeps, and an inflatable zone.
Jason Murphree, pastor of Crosshaven, said that the event went pretty smoothly for the first time. Jason felt like it was a great statement of faith and hope to have all of the churches working together to reach out and provide something positive and fun for the community. Plans are already in the works for a bigger and better version of the event for next year.
