Poole guest speaker at UMWU meeting March 2

CULLMAN — Deaconess Judy Poole, executive director of McCoy Day Care Center, Birmingham, was guest speaker for the March 2 meeting of the United Methodist Women Unit at First United Methodist Church in Cullman. She showed slides and videos to help tell of the work they do in caring for senior citizens during the day so families may work. McCoy Day Care Center is a mission program of the church. Many of the Sunday school classes contribute items to be used by the center in their program. This program care for what 2 hours a day would cost at home, and clients get the advantage of fellowship with others, art programs, singing and story telling in an atmosphere that is active and joyful. Shown with personal, office and snack items donated for the center are Beth Montgomery, vice president of the unit, President Sally Brown and Deaconess Judy Poole.
