Precious Blood Prayer Group of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church

CULLMAN — Members of the Precious Blood Prayer Group of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church spend their time praying for their Parish Church family, for area neighbors and friends, for their country and the entire world as they concentrate on Jesus who shed His most precious blood on the cross to save the world.

The call to adore the Precious Blood of the Lord Jesus came to a teenager in 1995 during the hour of Divine Mercy (3 p.m. worldwide). Barnabas Nwoye, a 17-year-old from Olo, Enugu State, Nigeria, received messages from the Lord, as well as from Jesus’ Blessed Mother Mary, a host of angels and saints including St. Joseph, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Bridget of Sweden,

St. Gertrude and the Holy Spirit, urging him and others to spend time in prayer and adoration to make reparation for the outrages committed on earth against the Lord.  In the secular world, political and social injustice reign above all, with greed, avarice, lust and a general hardening of hearts to the things of God. With all these glaring signs, the final showdown between good and evil is set on the horizon.

The Eternal Father, knowing what His flock is going to face, has outflanked the powers of Hell by introducing the Precious Blood Devotion through His visionary, Nwoye. This final weapon will assist His children to endure and overcome the Great Chastisement.

Six parishioners from Sacred Heart in Cullman recently culminated their initial five-month journey of praying weekly Gethsemane Hours, daily rosaries, the Chaplet of the Precious Blood, the Litany of the Precious Blood and the Consecration to the Precious Blood. They made their “Act of Consecration”during the Mass of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, at which time they received the Crucifix of the Agonizing Jesus Christ and the Badge of the Precious Blood.

For information about this ongoing prayer devotion, contact Issie Young at 256-734-8295 or Mary Ann Whaley at 256-339-9959.
