CULLMAN — Concerning the article on “Applause to Local Business,” I appreciate hearing about good deeds and good businesses — we still have good people in business that have heart and know how to treat their fellow man. Joe and Jason are both “great” businessmen; I’ve done business with both.
Now, I’d like to say a word of thanks to a great group of people and a community of caring people. In the Bethel community, Aug. 22, I turned over my tractor and pinned myself between a tree and the tractor. A neighbor’s nephew heard me yelling for help and called 9-1-1 and several neighbors turned out to offer assistance. Some prayed right there where I was. A young man held my head off of the ground while others pushed the tractor off of me. From the time 9-1-1 was called it was only 10 minutes when everyone came to my aide, all through the Grace of God. All kinds of emergency responders, including law enforcement, were there along with my neighbors helping, so I was in good hands. I just wanted to let then know how much I appreciate it. They are another great example of good people to others in our community.
