Community fight pays off

Vinemont Elementary’s Fight for Cancer event was a huge success. The event showcased the fact that unity can be accomplished among diversity if the cause is a just and noble one. Relay for Life provided the stage and all who participated served as star performers. From R&R Fight Productions to those who stepped into ring; from those who donated monetarily, to those who donated time; and especially those who came to support the event by purchasing tickets, concessions, and shirts; working together we all played a part in sending a $6,000 check to Relay For Life. Congratulations and sincere thanks to all who joined in Vinemont’s fight for cancer.

Special thanks to: Dr. Jane Teeter who serves as principal at Vinemont Elementary. Without her support, leadership and inspiration, the event could not have taken place. Also, special thanks goes to Vinemont High School principal Ronnie Barnes and head basketball coach Bobby Meyers for unselfishly sharing their facilities. Finally, I want to express appreciation to Cullman County School superintendent, Hank Allen, for taking time to attend the event in support of our efforts to advance cancer research.
