Winford L. Coppock

Graveside services for Winford L. Coppock, 83, of Vinemont will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Vinemont Baptist Cemetery, Max Hagood officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coppock died Thursday, May 28, at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Jan. 10, 1926 in the Walter community in Cullman County. He was a refrigeration technician and a veteran of the U.S. Army, served in World War II and achieved the rank of Private First Class. He was wounded in France and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Vinemont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee and Mary Anna Braswell Coppock; and a sister, Marie Jeager.

Survivors include a son, Brian (Cheryl) Coppock; a sister, Earline (Gilbert) Cook; three grandchildren, Bethany Kerr, Kevin Coppock and Jennifer Blake; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Kerr, Bonnie Kerr, Noah Kerr and Lillia Blake.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
