    Rick Ray, 60, of Homewood passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, after a courageous eight-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsey (PSP). Rick was born in Missouri and raised in Tuscumbia. Following his graduation from Deshler High School, he attended Auburn University and graduated in 1973. He moved to Birmingham where he had a very successful sales career in the communications industry, and he received much recognition and many awards over his career. At Auburn, he was an officer in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and other school organizations and honor societies. He was raised in the Methodist faith and joined the church at a young age. He enjoyed golf at Eagle Point, Auburn sports, especially football, and Atlanta Braves baseball.
