James D. ‘Jim’ Gorham Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. James D. "Jim" Gorham Sr., 77, of Birmingham, formerly of Anniston, will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Rev. Randy Postell and Rev. Randall Reeves officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday, February 25, 2013, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Gorham died Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Birmingham.

Mr. Gorham was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks, where he served as a Deacon Emeritus. He was also a Mason, served on the Board of Directors at the Salvation Army and was a past member of the Civitan Club. Mr. Gorham was a graduate of the University of Alabama and retired from Alabama Power after 34 years of service. He also served in the Naval Air Reserve for 10 years.

Mr. Gorham is preceded in death by his wife, Betty McRoy Gorham; and by a brother, Gene Gorham.

Survivors include his sons, James "Dale" Gorham Jr. and Gary McRoy Gorham and his wife, Laura, both of Birmingham; a sister, Sara Gorham Buxton and her husband, Gary; four grandchildren, Coleman Gorham, Cameron Gorham, Leigh Hampton Gorham and Harrison Gorham; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Disciplers Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Saks.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Saks, 4723 Saks Road, Anniston, AL 36206.
