CULLMAN — Floyd Robinson

Funeral services for Floyd Robinson, 94, of Cullman, formerly of Addison, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Addison, Bro. Dennis Trimble officiating, with burial in Baldwin Heights Baptist Church Cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robinson entered into rest Sunday, Feb. 10, in Ocala, Fla. He was born on July 2, 1918, in Gainesboro, Tenn., to Simeon and Geneva Steakley Robinson. Mr. Robinson proudly served his country for four years in the United States Army. He served during World War II in New Guinea and was awarded the Silver Star. After his military tour ended, he worked in Detroit, Mich., as a machinist for over 40 years. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Cullman for 25 years. His hobbies included playing jokes on family and friends, working on cars, and he was a prolific reader.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Etsel Burks Robinson; his parents, Simeon and Geneva Steakley Robinson; a daughter, Carolyn Robinson; two brothers, Kenneth Robinson and Gloyd Robinson; and three sisters, Beatrice Robinson, Irene Robinson and Mildred Reeder.

Survivors include his sons, Dr. Phillip (Rebecca) Robinson and LTC Chris (Nancy) Robinson; a daughter, Brenda (Paul) Turner; brothers, Carl (Grace) Robinson, Robert (Betty) Robinson; Glen (Doris) Robinson; sister, Reba (Bill) Curlee; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Turner, Doug Turner, John Robinson, Phillip Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, Megan Robinson, Katie Robinson, Alex Robinson, Jennifer Robinson, Laura Robinson and Andy Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Harley Turner, Madeline Turner and Madison Robinson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
