Jerome ‘Hot Shot’ Burnett
Funeral services for Jerome “Hot Shot” Burnett, 96, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Center Grove Baptist Church, Dr. Stanley Kilgore officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burnett passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynelle Walker Burnett; his grandson, Danny Jerome Ashley; his parents, Wilmer and Lillian Oden Burnett; his sisters, Louise Henry, Geneva Cole, Helen Sue Walker and Margaret Burnett; and his brother, James Burnett.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Harold Ashley, Brenda and Rayford Ashley, Elna Jo and Bill Lay, and Patricia and Jacky Yeager; 13 grandchildren, Jeff and Sherrie Ashley, Greg and Susan Ashley, Deresa and Ken Ball, Tanya and Rodney Beard, Lance and Talitha Lay, Jeremy Yeager, Jonathan and Jennifer Yeager; and 15 great-grandchildren, Ryne and Heather Ashley, Leah-Marie Ashley and Gunter Morris, Ragan Ashley, Cody Ashley, Carli Ashley, Tyler Ball, Katie Ball, Savannah Beard, Ella Claire Beard, Kendra Parker, Kenton Parker, Raylee Yeager, Hunter Yeager and Jackson Yeager.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
