CULLMAN — Florene Stevens Sutter

Florene Stevens Sutter of Cullman passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 26, 2012, at home, following a battle with cancer. She shared 46 years with the love of her life, Albert Leroy Sutter, who died in 2008.

Born in Cullman, she was the beloved daughter of the late Everett and Ollie Wren Stevens. She returned to Cullman in 2008 after 50-plus years in Southern California.

Florene enjoyed life to the fullest and was often the “life of the party.”

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Watne Taylor of Clarks Summit, Pa., and Sandra Watne Johnson; two sons, Steve Luther Sutter (Debbie) and Robert Leroy Sutter (Amelia), all of Cullman; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Stevens and Rosalie Stevens; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a precious granddaughter, Lea Taylor; two brothers, Gertis Stevens and Milton Stevens; and two sisters, Edith Kent and Barbara Ann Hollingsworth, all of whom she adored.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Jeff Steele officiating, with interment in Emeus Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
