Billy Ray Vest
Funeral services for Billy Ray Vest, 84, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Center Grove Baptist Church, with Brother Donnell Brown and Brother Stanley Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow in Center Grove Cemetery in Cullman.
The body will lie in state one hour before the service at the church.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vest died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012. He was born March 30, 1928. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Vittie Ledbetter Vest; his wife of 57 years, Lavona Vest; a daughter, Kay Vest; five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Bo) Gregory; a sister, Dean Jacobs; grandson, Nathan (Ashley) Gregory; granddaughter, Jessica Gregory; and great-granddaughters, Maci Gregory and Mali Gregory.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
