CULLMAN — Earl Edward Panter

Graveside services for Earl Edward Panter, 86, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Etha Baptist Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Panter died Thursday, Aug. 30, at Woodland Village Health Care. He was born March 13, 1926, in Cullman to James Henry and Elsie Mae Veal Panter. He was a poultry broiler supervisor. He served under General Patton for two-and-a-half years during World War II. He served in Germany, France and Austria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years and 10 months, Irma Gene Panter; a daughter, Wanda Gail Holmes; a sister-in-law, Shelby (Gloyd) Harris; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
