CULLMAN — Adaline ‘Avaline’ Hinkle Gregory

Funeral services for Adaline “Avaline” Hinkle Gregory, 83, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Good Hope Baptist Church, Dr. Ralph Andrews officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. She will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Moss-Services Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gregory was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Cullman to Denson and Edith Irene Pruett Hinkle. She passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, at her home, surrounded by family. Adaline worked 30 years with BellSouth/AT&T. She was a current member of Good Hope Baptist Church, and a former member of Mt. Pleasant Church, where she was active in several ministries, including teaching Bible school and Sunday School classes. Adaline was also one of eleven children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Gary Don Gregory; four brothers, Ozell Hinkle, Odell Hinkle, Joel Hinkle and Maurice Hinkle; a sister, Ann Lovett; two brothers-in-law, Gary Hutchison and Bob DePlachett; and two sisters-in-law, Fora Hinkle and Betty Hinkle.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Theron Hollis Gregory; two stepgrandsons, Jason (Bridget) Day and Harley Gannon Gregory; two stepgreat-grandsons, Nicholas Day and Alex Day; three sisters, Olene DePlachett, Kathleen (Bill) Hershberger and Nelda Hutchison; two brothers, Franklin (Sandra) Hinkle and Alvin Hinkle; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
