Funeral services for Kathleen Kelton, 87, of Garden City will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Bros. Paul Rivers and Lonnie Goodwin officiating, with interment in Garden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kelton was born Jan. 27, 1926, to Jodie and Lorene Jolly Childers of Blountsville. She took her heavenly flight Sunday, Oct. 13, from her home with loving family and friends at her side. She worked 25 years in the Dietary Department of Hanceville Nursing Home before her retirement. She was also a member of the Hopewell Road Church of God.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, Billy and Jake Childers.
Survivors include her husband, James “Buddy” Kelton of Garden City; daughters, Dean (Wesley) Hallmark of Gulf Shores, Ala., Patty (Allen) McAnnally and Judy (Randall) Yarbrough, both of Hanceville; nine grandchildren, Jim Hallmark, Carl Hallmark, Karen Hallmark, Casey Marcum, Sheila Garcia, Randall Yarbrough, Stacy Ragland, Hilary Thomas and Teri Tyree; 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice for all their support, kindness and care. And a special warm and loving “thank you” to Paul, her nurse.
