CULLMAN — Joy Faye Hutchinson

Funeral services for Joy Faye Hutchinson, 78, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Mitchell Williams and Bob Gunn officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hutchinson died Wednesday, July 25, at her residence. She was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Lee County to Leroy and Selma Blackburn Harrison. She was a secretary for First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Cullman. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and worked with youth groups when her children were growing up. She was active in United Methodist Women for many years, holding almost every office and served as church secretary for 15 years. She was a charter member and past president of Cullman Lioness Club and enjoyed participating in its service projects. She was a strong supporter of Alabama Lions Sight Conservation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James A. Hutchinson Sr.

Survivors include a son, James (Denise) Hutchinson Jr.; a daughter, Debbie (Randy) Bradford; three grandchildren, Allen (Jacklyn) Hutchinson, Brian Hutchinson and Stephanie Hutchinson; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Green of Anniston; and two nieces, Beth Green of Langrange, Ga., and Emily Green of Jacksonville, Fla. She will also be missed by brother-in-law, Robert (Betty) Hutchinson of Dothan; a sister-in-law, Jane (Richard) Webb; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, or to Alabama Lions Sight Conservation.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
