Roy Franklin Sturgeon
Funeral services for Roy Franklin Sturgeon, 58, a longtime resident of Cullman will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at New Horizon Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at 1 p.m. in Forest Crest Cemetery.
New Horizon Funeral Home of Dora is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sturgeon passed away peacefully Saturday, July 21. He was born in Spartanburg, S.C. He worked for the Birmingham Board of Education Service Center. Roy enjoyed fishing and hunting in younger days, but the most important drive in life was his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Freeman-Sturgeon; sons, Bradley William (Hannah) Sturgeon and Russell Matthew (significant other, Sara) Sturgeon; brother-in-law, Richard (Doris) Freeman of Adamsville; sister-in-law, Charlotte Freeman of Hoover; a nephew, Robert Sturgeon of Trafford; and niece, Amber (Kevin) Sturgeon-Curl of Hanceville; among other nieces and nephews that enriched his life as well.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
