CULLMAN — Jerry Edwin ‘Roe Hoe’ O’Hair

Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Edwin “Roe Hoe” O’Hair, 71, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Josh Hogland officiating.

Mr. O’Hair was born March 21, 1942, in Ontario, Calif., to the late Clarence and Helen Cloyd O’Hair. He passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, at his residence.

Jerry was a past sheriff’s deputy in Hillsborough County, Kan., and was elected as the Marion County Sheriff in Kansas for one term. He went on to be an OTR driver for Wal-Mart for 23 years, and retired to open the “Roe Hoe” Truck Stop in Dodge City which he operated for six years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Ormerod; and two brothers, Michael J. O’Hair and Mark A. O’Hair.

Survivors include her a daughter, Linda K. (Wayne) Cole of Eau Claire, Wisc.; five sons, Kirk A. (Rhanda) O’Hair of Wichita, Kan., David E. (Sharon) O’Hair of Boyd, Wisc., Jac E. (Tina) O’Hair of Cullman, Jon C. O’Hair of Rome, N.Y., and Marcus A. (Sandi) O’Hair of Crane Hill; 14 grandchildren, Duran, Kyle, Daydra, Rayce, Kiffany, Marissa, Jeremia, Hannah, Jac Jr., Taylor, Dawson, Kyle, Angela and Marcus Jr.; four  great-grandchildren, Link, Liam, Henry and Tessa; and three sisters, Donna VanNess of Wichita, Kan., Chris King of Ponca City, Okla., and Deborah Gearheart of Boonville, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
