Dorothy Christine Trussell

ADDISON — Dorothy Christine Trussell

Dorothy Christine Trussell, 91, of Addison passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1921, in Winston County, Ala. Mrs. Trussell was a member of Kemp Baptist Church for 40 years.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. She will lie in state Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Kemp Baptist Church, where the service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bros. Sean Easterwood, Robert Partridge and George Pickering will officiate.

She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Bates, Kathleen Hayes and I.V. (George) Pickering; nine grandchildren, Frances Cummings, David Bates, Connie Sheffield, Sandra Barnhill, Randy Hayes, Joey Pickering, Felicia Potter, Christy Tarvin, Melvin Gill and Suzie Majors; and 14 great-grandchildren, Holly Speegle, Shelby Marks, Deanna O’Rear, Kristin O’Rear, Heather Wade, Josh Pickering, Caden Potter, Jacob Potter, Matthew Sheffield, Kara Sheffield, Carolyn Sheffield, Jennifer Barnhill, Jeffrey Barnhill and Jamie Sheffield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Trussell; daughter, Dianne Potter; son, Roy Trussell; parents, William Roseman and Lillian Easter Davidson Watts; brothers, Floyd Watts, Willie Watts, Grady Watts, Fred Watts and Alvie Watts; and sisters, Gracie Lindley, Ruby Pollett, Minnie Gilliland, Mary Brom, Carrie Lindley, Mattie Walker and Delia Morgan.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
