CULLMAN — Marie J. ‘James’ Hines

Funeral services for Marie J. “James” Hines, 81, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Ben White and Larry Duke officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hines died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at her residence. She was born Sept. 20, 1931, to Charlie and Burlie Raley James. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She was known for babysitting the neighborhood children. She was always full of life with a quick wit and loving heart. She lived a good Christian life and always wanted to share that with others. She loved her family and her flowers. Her days were spent enjoying time with her children and grandchildren — that she loved very much. She also loved the Omega Hospice staff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. “Henry” Hines; her brothers, Ralph James and Owen James; and a grandson, Joseph “Joe” Hines.

Survivors include a son, Henry Charles “Charlie” (Shelia) Hines; two daughters, Charlene (Gary) White and Marlene Hancock; twin sister, Mildred “Mug” Brown and her sister, Imogene Cornelius; five grandchildren, Ben (Jennifer) White, Anthony “Chubby” (Ashley) White, Josh (Emily) Hines, Riley Hancock and Hanna Hancock; and four great-grandchildren, Kailey White, Kloe White, Kinkade White and Cooper Hines.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
