CULLMAN — Edna Faye Humphries Briscoe

Edna Faye Humphries Briscoe, 78, passed away on the morning of Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the home of her son, Mark.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. When she was unable to physically help her loved ones, she spent hours in prayer for them all. She loved Jesus with all of her heart.

In death, she was reunited with her husband of almost 60 years, J.C. Briscoe; parents, Albert and Bertha Humphries; brother, Tolbert Humphries; sister, Lois Wright; infant son, Steven; and beloved grandson, Jay Briscoe.

Survivors include sons, Randy (Lisa) Briscoe and Mark Briscoe; three granddaughters, Miranda (Courtney) Herring, Blair (Cody) Thompson and Stephanie (Matt) Deason; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edith Bennett, Madge (Mack) Carter, Elizabeth Mabe and Vernell (Billy) McCravy; a brother, Troy (Mary Edith) Humphries; and many treasured nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a large church family and a host of friends that she loved dearly.

Her family thanks Alacare Hospice, particularly nurse, Anna Gardner, who went above and beyond to ensure her comfort in her last days.

She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
